In-house financing
The man who sold you the car is the man you pay.
No lender, no broker, no application that goes off somewhere to be scored. You and Matt Horne agree a down payment and a weekly figure at 15% APR, he writes it down, and that is the deal.

What would this cost me a week?
Move the sliders. The arithmetic is the same arithmetic Matt uses when he writes the contract — 15% APR on whatever is left after your down payment.
Which way to move them
- More down
- Smaller weekly payment, and less interest overall, because there is less left to charge it on.
- Shorter term
- Bigger weekly payment, but noticeably less interest by the end. Pay it off early and it drops again.
Estimated payment
$124a week
- Amount financed
- $6,000

- Interest over the term
- $470
- Total you'd pay
- $7,948
An estimate, not an offer of credit. Tax, title and registration are on top, and the down payment on any particular car is something you and Matt Horne agree.
Straight answers
Who am I actually borrowing from?
Matt Horne. There is no bank and no finance company behind this — the money you owe is owed to the lot that sold you the car. That is what "buy here, pay here" means, and it is why the decision takes minutes rather than days.
What rate do you charge?
15% APR is the standard. It is the same figure for everybody; there is no tier you get bumped into for having a thin credit file.
How much do I need down?
It depends on the car and it is something the two of you agree. As a rough guide, budget around a fifth of the price. A bigger deposit means a smaller weekly number and less interest overall.
How do I pay each week?
Zelle, or cash at the lot. Matt records every payment against your balance and prints you a receipt at the counter. For a current payoff figure, call him — he has the ledger in front of him.
What if I can't make a week?
Call Matt Horne before the payment is due, not after. He has no call centre and no collections department — the entire arrangement depends on the two of you talking to each other.
Can I pay it off early?
Yes, and you should if you can — interest accrues on what is outstanding, so clearing it early costs you less. There is no early-settlement penalty.
Figures quoted on this site are estimates. The terms that bind are the ones written on the retail instalment contract you sign at the lot, which also sets out tax, title and registration.
